OUR WINES

Established in 1970, Montara Grampians Wines is a small, 5-star winery located in the beautiful Grampians region of Victoria. The elevation and site exposure of Montara’s vineyards, of 360 metres above sea level, is particularly important in avoiding frost and influencing vine growth. Total area under vine is 20 hectares, and plantings include shiraz, pinot noir, and riesling (some of which are 40+ years of age), as well as chardonnay, sauvignon blanc, cabernet sauvignon, and merlot. Montara is owned by the Stapleton family, who fell in love with both the property’s scenic location and suitability for premium wine production back in 2006 after a long history in the Australian export and agribusiness industries.
