Tasting Notes
This Riesling shows great varietal and regional expression with aromas of lemon, lime, and lifted floral notes of elderflower.
Silky-soft palate with hallmark regional lemon/lime characters the residual sugar of 10g/litre combines well with the wine’s natural acidity. Drinking well on release, but will develop further complexity with bottle maturation. Ideal as an aperitif and will
compliment a variety of cuisines.

MONTARA GRAMPIANS RIESLING (Member $86.40)

Tasting Notes
Dark fruits of blackcurrant and spicy fruit compote with an
integrated cedary nish. Fine integrated tannins give the wine
structure, integrity and elegance.
Grapes were harvested by machine and hand from the Montara
Estate plantings, in early March of 2017. Fruit was destemmed
before transfer to 2 and 8 tonne open fermenters. Twice daily
pump overs and punch downs were conducted to extract the
desired colour and tannin. Wine was transferred to 25% new
French oak hogsheads and puncheons for maturation prior to
bottling in January, 2019.
An extremely elegant age worthy Grampians Shiraz made for the
long haul. Careful cellaring will reward. Will pair nicely with
choice beef or venison cuts.

Tasting Notes
An exceptional vintage and stellar example of Grampians Pinot
Noir produced from a blend of estate planted vineyards between
20-45 years of age. Aromas of mulberries, dark cherry, rose water
and spicy leaf. Palate is soft-textured with red to blue berry fruits,
cherry cola, milk chocolate and savoury spice. Stemmy tannins
add complexity and interest, and subtle oak provides background
depth and support. Ideal accompaniment to duck breast or spicy
pork dishes.

(1)  2017 Montara Grampians Riesling
Great varietal and regional expression - this Riesling is drinking well on release, but will develop further complexity with bottle maturation and careful cellaring. Ideal as an aperitif or will compliment a variety of cuisines.

Region:  Grampians (100%)
Colour/Appearance:  Pale straw

Aromatics:  Aromas of lemon blossom,  lifted floral notes of elderflower and rosewater

Palate: Hallmark regional lemon/lime characters-the residual sugar integrates well with the wines natural acidity. The wine has a tension, yet a soft texture ensuring great drinkability.

Vinification/Maturation:  Fruit sourced from two separate Riesling blocks from the Montara vineyard.  Harvested in the cool of night by machine, the grapes were gently pressed to stainless steel for settling and temperature controlled fermentation-with inoculated yeasts. A small portion was  wild fermented separately in older French oak. Ferment temperatures not exceeding 14°C. Fermentation was concluded leaving the resultant wine with 4g/litre residual sugar. Wine was aged on lees for 5 months to build texture and complexity before filtration and bottling in August 2019
